About Me and How I started
Hi, I am Lenny and founder of HNLpet.com. You are wondering how HNLpet came about. Okay a little about my back ground. I have work in many industry from Fast Food, Photo Lab, Security, Lifeguard, Deckhand, Boat Engineer, Rescue Scuba Diver, Laundry Master, 100 ton Boat Captain, Surf Shop Owner, Lead Production Coordinator, and many more. The one common thing in this kind work that I am great is COMMUNITATION. Communication is one of the key points in keeping your workers and customer happy. Keep them informed with as much information possible. To have a little peace of mind.
Back in 2016, I had to ship one of my puppies (Kleekaihawaii.com) to Australia. I contacted a local pet transporter it would of cost the new puppy owner 3X the cost of the puppy. I looked into it what needed to be done. I said to myself *o*y*h*t that is why it cost so much. So I started the process microchip, vaccine, internal and external, and bloodwork. As I got to the final leg of this journey I needed to book a flight. I was able to get a hold of the airline they said, I needed a pet transport company (PTC) to book the flight. What is that going to cost me? $$$$. So I got hold of a PTC told them what is going on and what needed. They were in shock on how far I got with this move. In addition I needed to book an overnight flight to New Zealand. While back in Australia the new puppy owner got all the paperwork done, from Import Permit and 10 day quarantine booked which made my job a little easier. Coming to the end I had a USDA Vet Cert and seal done. The vet was shock on my paperwork on how it was done with no errors. After the USDA vet appointment, I needed to submit all my paperwork to the pet transport company via email or the puppy couldn't leave. The PTC was shocked that I got everything done, normally clients have to go back and redo the Health Certificate because of errors and we have to push back there flight couple days or a week to get it redone. I told them reading, communicating with the Vet, USDA Vet, and new puppy owner is key. The next day puppy flew to New Zealand then onto Australia. Puppy is now safe with there new owner. From that day on I wanted to be a Pet Transporter. I love the challenge and seeing the end result. |
